    Hi there, you've reached the site of Michael McCarthy. This site was created for the purpose of sharing pictures and information with family. Anyone who wants to is more than welcome to check them out though. Although I've explored every state in the country, most of the pictures on the site right now were taken in Colorado, where I currently live. Of all the beautiful places I've seen, I still consider the area I grew up in, Fort Walton Beach & Destin, Florida to be one of the most beautiful places in the country. Pensacola, Florida also has some beautiful spots. Here's a short list of what I consider to be the most beautiful states... Washington (in particular the NW corner of the state and the rain forests), California (the northern half near the coast and the redwood forests are spectacular), Colorado (anywhere in the Rockies is awe inspiring), Florida (the east coast and the panhandle are the prettiest). Maine is very nice too, especially the islands off the coast of Maine. The Blue Ridge mountains have a very cozy feel to them and the Ozarks have a prehistoric look to them, especially on foggy days.

   For those of you wondering what I'm up to... I'm still a webmaster specializing in search engine optimization, however I no longer design sites or do SEO work for businesses. Every now and then I get talked into taking an SEO or web design job but I mostly just work on my own websites. If you're family and you need help or advice on a website or internet marketing I'm always happy to lend a hand to family at no charge. Just drop me an email and say "hey Mike, can you help me with..." I also have a transparent canoe and kayak business that takes up a bit of my time. When I'm not working I spend most of my time canoing, hiking, fishing, taking pictures and just enjoying Colorado in general.


    Here's a cute picture my sister (Maureen) in Atlanta sent me. It's a very old photo and it wasn't in very good shape but I touched it up a little with a photo program. Thank you Maureen, it's a very special picture to me.
